Rocket Mice

We started off Space Week 2016 by making rocket mice.
We cut out circles (after first tracing circular shapes).
We made the circles into cones and stuck on ears and tails.
We used empty bottles as launchers.
Our rocket mice flew off into space!
(They used air under force to fly)

Balloon Rockets

We launched rocket balloons with Ms. Lally/Ms. McCaul's class.
First of all we had to try and figure out a way for our balloons to fly in a straight line.
We tried tying the balloon onto the thread using an elastic band.
This was a good idea but it didn't work too well.
We eventually decided that if we stuck the balloon onto a straw and put the string through the straw, that this would work much better.
It did!
We could even get the balloon to fly uphill!
This rocket uses air under force to fly (just like the rocket mice).
