Second Class had great fun experimenting with our fingerprints.
We learned a lot about fingerprints:
- Tiny fingerprints were on the tips of our fingers before we were born.
- Tell kids how fingerprints can leave an ‘invisible ink' of sorts that police can decode with special tools and equipment.
- Fingerprints are used to catch criminals. Our fingerprints give our fingers the rough surface we need to create the friction that allows us to pick things up. Without the ridges on our fingers we would not be able to grip things.
