As some of you may know, this week is Science Week. To mark the occasion, we visited Ms. McLoughlin's 2nd class this morning where we saw brilliant work which was done around the theme of 'Space'. This included planet models, erupting volcanoes, drawings, rockets made out of various materials, and many other cool things.

A few weeks ago, we made straw rockets. Today, we made foam rockets. All we needed was some foam, card, duct tape and scissors. These ones travel a LOT further than our straw rockets. We are really proud of our hard work.

Last Tuesday, our hurling trainers from Liam Mellows Hurling Club brought in the minor cup which they won recently and we got a photo with them. Seán, Jack and Ross have been coaching us for the last couple of weeks and have taught us loads of new skills. We also have short hurling matches during PE time. We always have a great time at hurling!

** If anyone would like to further improve their hurling/camogie skills, Liam Mellows are a great local club where all new members are really welcome. Children would get extra coaching and would have more time to improve and play matches.

We ate the fruit after Art was finished! We talked about the 5 senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell). We wondered how easy or hard it would be to identify the different fruits if we were blindfolded. This meant we had no sense of sight. We had to rely more heavily on our other senses, and everyone guessed the right answers!

We did lots of work with fruit recently, including some observational drawings of a selection of different fruits. We focused on different ways to use line, texture, form, shading and positioning in the sketches to make them look as real as possible.

Sorry about the delay with photos recently - we had a technical error!!

Here are some photos from the Hallowe'en Walk and the dance by the Glee Club afterwards. It was a brilliant day.
