Making Sandwiches

We made sandwiches in our class and then we wrote out recipes using our Instructional Writing skills.
This is a ham and butter sandwich made from brown bread.
We really enjoyed our delicious, healthy sandwiches!!!
Some people chose to make blackcurrent and butter sandwiches.
This is a healthy tomato and cheese sandwich.
We spread the butter or mayonaise onto the bread using a knife.
The children cut their sandwiches using a sharp knife. But we were very careful!!!
YUM YUM-Tasty Tomato Sandwiches!!!
Don't forget to eat the crusts!!! That's the healthiest part of the bread!!!
Thumbs UP!!! WELL DONE rang a Dó!!! A delicious, healthy lunch for everyone!!!
We wrote up the instructions for making Healthy Sandwiches. We know the features of instructional texts...
We remember to have a title, to write down our ingredients (what we need), the method (what to do), we use numbers to mark each step and each instruction starts with a verb.
We always include a diagram / picture and it is handy to leave a tip for people who will be following our instructions eg. Get an adult to help with cutting when using a sharp knife!!
Here is a website to help you with writing instructions:
