We hope you all got a chance to check out our Spooky Hallowe'en creation outside our classroom!
Test yourself or a friend:
How many pumpkins are there?
Are some pumpkins bigger than other ones?
Can you spot any other differences between the pumpkins?
How many spiders can you count?
Do they all have the same number of legs?
Are there more big spiders than little spiders?

Yesterday, we explored the differences between what school life is like for us, in comparison with what it would have been like for our parents and grandparents. Did you know that, in some schools, children had to bring a sod of turf with them to school each day to help to stay warm? We found it hard to imagine having a fireplace in our classroom. We even got to pass around some turf to investigate what it looks/smells/feels like.

We made clay monsters during Art today. It was our first time using clay this year. It was a bit messy but we had lots of fun!
Lastly, we had to put glue all over our spooky creations. We hope this will help to stop them from cracking.
First, we separated our pieces of clay into two sections - one for the body and one for the monster's features. Then, we hollowed out one of the balls of clay so it looked like a bowl. Lastly, we added some spooky features.
We are very proud of how they all turned out and we can't wait to paint them next week!
